Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe said Andre de Ruyter was out of his depth as Eskom CEO.
It's now nearly two years since De Ruyter threw in the towel and resigned from his position at the power utility.
Mantashe, who is the ANC's national chairperson, described De Ruyter as a "misappointment".
