Police Minister Bheki Cele said the pieces of blood-stained clothing items, that were found in an open field in Saldanha Bay last month, did not belong to missing six-year-old Joshlin Smith.

It's been just over 40 days since the mysterious disappearance of the Grade 1 pupil, who was last seen playing outside her home in the Middelpos informal settlement.

Four suspects, including the girl's mother, Kelly Smith, her boyfriend, Jacquen "Boeta" Appolis, Stevano van Rhyn, and Lourentia Lombaard, have been charged with human trafficking and kidnapping.
