The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) and the African Transformation Movement (ATM) have entered into a pact to work together.
The two parties, which secured 14.58% and 0.4% respectively in the 2024 general elections, "have agreed to work together on all community and parliamentary programmes and activities", a joint statement between the two parties confirmed on Thursday.
The agreement to work together follows a Wednesday meeting in Durban between former state president and MK Party president Jacob Zuma and his long-time friend and Chief Apostle of the Twelve Apostles Church, Caesar Nongqunga, who is the ATM's spiritual leader.
"The meeting discussed the two organisations' shared values, principles and objectives," the statement read.
