Busisiwe Mkhwebane wants the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria to "strike out" the Public Protector's detailing of her legal team's payment demands for representing her during her impeachment inquiry – including her advocate Dali Mpofu's R45 000 a day fee.
But is unclear why the impeached former Public Protector is so outraged, given that the information about her team's fees, and those of the evidence leaders in Parliament's investigation into her fitness to hold office, have all been in the public domain since July 2022.
Days after the inquiry started, News24 reported that Mpofu would be paid R45 000 per day from the public purse.
