People living in illegal structures in Tshwane face eviction after the Gauteng High Court ruled in favour of municipal by-laws enforcement. Lawyers for Human Rights said it would appeal the "totally wrong" judgment.
Lawyers for Human Rights has questioned why Acting Judge Vuyani Ngalwana raised President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala scandal in what it says was a "totally wrong" ruling - where he found homeless people who built shelters on a pavement were criminals.
"Nobody had even argued or mentioned that [the Phala Phala accusations], so that's something that the judge took note of, and I don't know where he got that from.
