News24 | Monday's weather: Fire warning issued for Northern Cape with temperatures exceeding 30°C

Cool to warm weather is expected in most parts of the country. While showers may cause localised flodding in low-lying areas.

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning of extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the Khai-Ma and Hantam municipalities of the Northern Cape.

It will be fine and warm to hot in Gauteng.

It will be fine and cool to warm but partly cloudy in the east of Mpumalanga, with morning fog and drizzle along the escarpment.

In Limpopo, it will be fine and warm to hot, but cloudy in the east with morning fog and drizzle along the escarpment.

Fine and warm to hot conditions can be expected in the North West.

The Free State will be fine and warm.

In the Northern Cape, it will be cloudy with fog patches along the coast in the morning and evening, otherwise fine and cool to warm, but hot in places over Namakwa District and the extreme northern parts.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly in the morning, becoming moderate south-westerly to southerly.

It will be fine and warm in the Western Cape, but cool along the coastal areas, where it will become partly cloudy during the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly along the south coast at first, becoming fresh to strong westerly to south-westerly, otherwise moderate to fresh north-westerly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Cloudy conditions with morning fog in places over the interior can be expected in the western half of the Eastern Cape; otherwise partly cloudy and warm, but cool in places along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be fresh north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the evening.

On the eastern half, it will be cloudy with morning fog patches in places over the interior; otherwise partly cloudy and cool, but fine in the north.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal can expect morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, becoming fine during the day.

The wind along the coast will be gentle to moderate southerly to south-easterly, becoming moderate easterly to north-easterly from the south by mid-morning, spreading northwards.
