The controversial Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) Bill was passed in the National Assembly by an overwhelming ANC majority and supported by the EFF.
The IFP, NFP, and AIC also supported the bill.
On Thursday, MPs deliberated on the bill and a protest before the sitting set the tone for the debate.
