Lawmakers are not expected to be treated like angels, but they cannot be treated like devils for behaving badly.

This was the central argument of the EFF, who has returned to the Western Cape High Court, this time to argue its MPs should be awarded the same type of "constitutional damages" given to the victims of the Life Esidimeni scandal.

They were forcefully ejected from Parliament after protesting at two of then-president Jacob Zuma's State of the Nation Addresses (SONA).
