Benn Mathews Christopher from Brandvlei was the highest-performing of the inmates and parolees nationally.

A Western Cape inmate scored six distinctions in his matric exams, the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) announced on Tuesday. 

Benn Mathews Christopher from Brandvlei Correctional Centre near Worcester was the highest performing of inmates and parolees nationally, excelling with an average of 86.14%.

He obtained six distinctions in English First Additional Language (83%), Mathematics Literacy (86%), Life Orientation (85%), Business Studies (92%), Geography (89%), and Tourism (92%).
