The embattled National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has asked universities to continue paying allowances to students until July.
In a letter to universities, NSFAS chief operations officer Errol Makhubela told them the scheme would make payments to them on Friday, 12 April, so that they could continue paying students for the period April to July.
Previously, universities were asked to pay allowances only for the months of February and March.
