Police are investigating after two young girls died in Makwallo, Free State, on Tuesday.
Free State police have called for calm after residents took to the streets over the deaths of two girls, aged three and four.
The girls were certified dead at the Multi-Purpose Centre in Mokwallo, Vredefort, at approximately 17:30 on Tuesday.
The provincial community safety department said it was alleged the cause of death might be due to snacks bought at a tuckshop.
