The Patriotic Alliance (PA) reported the DA to the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC).
The party alleged that a DA member had incited violence against PA members and supporters.
The complaint came after a leaked voice note by the DA's Bonteheuwel councillor, Angus McKenzie, who could be heard warning that if the PA canvassed for votes in the area, "[we] will deal with them".
