Gauteng police arrested a man after he told the Commission of Inquiry into the Usindiso building fire that he started the blaze which claimed 76 lives in Marshalltown in August.

Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said the man, 29, was arrested on Tuesday.

He will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court soon on charges of arson, murder and attempted murder.
