Police have rescued a kidnap victim and arrested five suspects on Sunday.

This after the kidnapping was reported in Wolmaransstad, the North West, on Friday.

The suspects were arrested at their alleged hideout in the Free State. 

The kidnapped victim, 39, was rescued unharmed. Police seized three cellphones and a replica firearm. 

"The suspects will appear in the Wolmaransstad Magistrate's Court on Monday, facing charges of kidnapping, extortion, aggravated robbery and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm," said North West police spokesperson Captain Mpho Manyoba.
