A prominent leader of the DA caucus in Johannesburg has found herself at the centre of a controversial billing disagreement with City Power, which she believes is politically motivated.

News24 has reliably learnt Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku has been accused of defaulting on payment arrangements for electricity while paying from a City of Johannesburg staff account.

The caucus leader has also been accused of harassing and intimidating City Power technicians when they wanted to cut her electricity at one of her properties in Orange Grove.
