ANC councillors and the ruling party's coalition members, comprising small political parties, are looking to purchase "security vehicles" worth R25 million for yet-to-be-identified councillors and officials, in a city that is already service delivery-starved.
The ANC and its voting partners are accused of trying to push through the procurement before the elections and within this financial year, which has less than two months remaining.
And there are scant details about what the taxpayer's money will be spent on.
