A chalkboard sign outside a small café near the opera house in Odesa promises the best coffee in town, and it does so with what is said to be typical flair for this part of Ukraine on the Black Sea.
What is unusual about this sign that may appear ordinary and be overlooked otherwise is that the drinks are advertised in handwritten Ukrainian. Less than two years ago, the sign would probably have been in Russian.
