The chairperson of the Cultural, Religious and Linguistic (CRL) Rights Commission’s Section 22 committee, Reverend Musa Xulu, has resigned.
He announced his resignation from the committee – tasked with regulating Christian churches – at a press briefing on Thursday.
He cited a “toxic” and “hostile” environment and a lack of independence.
“I never presided over a single meeting so my attempts to set independence were not allowed. Although I was present, I could not participate as the atmosphere was too toxic to do so,” Xulu said during the briefing.
This is a developing story.
