The South African Weather Service has issued an advisory for sweltering heat conditions expected in places over the Western Cape's west coast district. In these sub-regions, daytime temperatures are expected to reach between 37 and 43°C.

Fire danger warnings

Extremely high fire conditions are expected over Hantam Local Municipality in the Northern Cape and Bergrivier Local Municipality in the Western Cape.

Cloudy conditions are expected for Gauteng in the morning, otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers.

Mpumalanga will be cloudy with morning fog and drizzle patches along the escarpment, becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the Highveld.

Rain is expected later over the Lowveld and escarpment areas.

Cloudy weather with morning fog and drizzle patches along the escarpment is forecast for Limpopo. Otherwise, partly cloudy and warm temperatures are expected.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are forecast over the central areas by the afternoon.

The North West will be cloudy in the east at first, otherwise, partly cloudy and warm to hot conditions are forecast, with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Cloudy conditions with morning fog patches are expected in the east of the Free State. Otherwise, fine and cool to warm temperatures are forecast, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the eastern half.

The Northern Cape can expect fine and warm to hot conditions, becoming partly cloudy in the east by the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme north.

The wind along the coast will be light in the morning, becoming a moderate north-westerly from late afternoon.

Morning fog patches are expected in the Western Cape along the west coast. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy in the south and extreme east, becoming fine and warm to hot but extremely hot over the West Coast District.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate southerly to south-easterly but moderate to fresh south of cape point, becoming a light north-westerly north of table bay in the evening.

Cloudy conditions are forecast for the western half of the Eastern Cape at first, otherwise it will be partly cloudy and warm, becoming fine in places in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a fresh to strong easterly.

The eastern half of the province will be cloudy and cool to warm with with light rain in places south of escarpment in the morning.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the north-east in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal will have morning fog over the interior, otherwise it will be cloudy and cool but warm in the north-east with isolated morning and evening showers and rain.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate south-easterly, becoming easterly to north-easterly from the south towards afternoon.
