Johannesburg Water CEO Derrick Kgwale is praying for rain this weekend as the city's water infrastructure crawls out of its precarious position.

Kgwale spoke to the media on Friday at the second of a series of bi-weekly meetings the water entity has committed to giving after weeks of water outages.

He openly called the situation a crisis, saying there was no other word for it when communities have been inconvenienced.
