A house is seen surrounded by flames as a fire rages on the mountain above Simon's Town on 20 December, 2023.

The fire in Simon's Town has largely been brought under control with firefighters now dealing with flare-ups at Partridge Point and Smitswinkel.

Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Jermaine Carelse said one Oryx helicopter is water bombing the inaccessible areas.
