Six teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly stabbed a matric pupil to death at Humansdorp Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday morning.
Two pupils, aged 18, and four others, aged 16 and 17, were traced to a gravel road leading to Oyster Bay.
Provincial police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli said the six were questioned and later detained on a charge of murder.
The matric pupil was killed after a violent altercation at the school shortly after 08:15 on Tuesday.
Nkohli said the four minors would be processed for appearance in the Children’s Court.
The other two suspects are expected to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Eastern Cape education department spokesperson Mali Mtima told News24 that the department was aware of the stabbing and was awaiting a full school report.
