Although the State was ready to proceed with the fraud and theft trial of Malesela Teffo, the erstwhile advocate argued that he was meant to be released from custody.
Teffo briefly appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court, sitting in the prison court in Kgosi Mampuru correctional facility on Wednesday.
While holding a stack of papers in the dock, he was told that the State was ready to proceed to trial and wanted to arrange a date.
