One of the suspects charged with the brazen murder of prominent activist Loyiso Nkohla has abandoned his bail bid and faces a slew of serious charges related to a separate matter in the Blue Downs Magistrate's Court.
Friends and family of Nkohla, who packed the Athlone Magistrate's Court on Monday morning, breathed a sigh of relief when 38-year-old Zukisa Tshabile told the court he would not be seeking bail.
Tshabile, who is accused of being one of the four gunmen who shot Nkohla during a community meeting in Philippi in April, appeared before the magistrate wearing a surgical mask to conceal his identity.
