Tafelberg Road has been closed after a fire on Table Mountain on Saturday.
Hikers have been warned to make their way down Table Mountain amid a blaze along Tafelberg Road.
On Saturday, SANParks put out an urgent appeal for hikers near the Platteklip Gorge trail and surrounding areas to descend from the mountain as a safety precaution.
Firefighting crews from the Nature Conservation Corporation Wildfires Newlands and Kloofnek have been deployed to fight the inferno, together with three Huey helicopters and a spotter plane.
