Tensions between the EFF and the ANC reached boiling point after an ANC member was caught allegedly removing and trashing EFF posters in Scenery Park in East London.

Nomncedisi Mabhoyana, who is a branch executive member of the ANC in Buffalo City's Ward 5, was charged with contravening the Electoral Act.

The EFF reported the incident at the Scenery Park police station on the very same day of the incident - 7 May.
