- Three people were shot dead in Khayelitsha on Sunday.
- No arrests have been made.
- This follows two mass shootings, a day apart, in the Western Cape last week.
Just days after two mass murders in the Western Cape, provincial police are on the hunt for gunmen who shot three people dead in Site C, Khayelitsha, on Sunday evening.
Police spokesperson Colonel André Traut said provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit detectives were in pursuit of those responsible for the triple murder.
Traut said police received a complaint at around 20:20 and upon arrival, discovered the body of a 26-year-old man in a passage in Site C.
"The bodies of two females, also in their 20s and both with gunshot wounds, were discovered in a shack not far from the first scene," he said.
The motive for the triple murder is yet to be determined.

Acting chairperson of the Khayelitsha Sub-District community police forum Funeka Soldaat, condemned the killings.
"It's extremely sad when the community in blue and the community police forums are working so hard to take guns out of our townships but then we are confronted with more of these sad instances," she said.
Soldaat added:
We appeal to the community to join our campaign of silencing the guns by speaking out. We cannot continue to remain silent when our people are dying on a regular basis in the township.
The CPF vowed to continue and not slow down in their fight against crime as the festive season approached.
"It's going to be a difficult festive season as the crime may increase but we will continue to fight," Soldaat said.
The triple murder comes after five people were shot dead and another five hospitalised in Atlantis last Wednesday.
A day later, a shooting in Bishop Lavis claimed seven lives. One person was wounded.
