The top five municipal bill defaulting communities in the City of Tshwane, which owe hundreds of millions of rands, include affluent suburbs such as Waterkloof and Silver Lakes.
This was revealed by the Tshwane Finance MMC Jacqui Uys in a statement about the #TshwaneYaTima revenue collection campaign on Thursday.
News24 previously reported that the City had intensified the campaign - in which non-paying businesses, government departments, individual households and residential estates have their power cut off – a strategy to ensure defaulters pay their outstanding accounts.
