Morning fog patches are expected for the majority of the country, but a warning has been issued for damaging waves in two regions, according to the South African Weather Service.

Impact-based warnings:

A Yellow Level 2 warning for waves resulting in damage to coastal infrastructure and disruption of small harbours or ports has been issued for between Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay.

Gauteng will be fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy in the north in the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Morning fog patches are expected in Mpumalanga except in the Lowveld.

Otherwise, partly cloudy and cold to cool temperatures are forecast, but it will be warm in the Lowveld where it will become cloudy with evening showers and rain.

Limpopo will have morning fog patches along the escarpment. Otherwise, partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions are expected.

It will become cloudy with showers and rain during the evening in the east.

Partly cloudy conditions are forecast in the extreme north of the North West, otherwise it will be fine and cool.

The Free State will be fine and cool but cold in the extreme east.

Morning fog is expected along the coast and adjacent interior of the Northern Cape. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool to warm.

The wind along the coast will be a fresh to strong south-easterly.

The Western Cape will have morning fog in the north-western parts. Otherwise, cloudy and cool to warm conditions are forecast, but it will be cold in some of the central parts.

The wind along the coast will be a fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly along the western and south-western coast.

Otherwise, a light to moderate south-easterly to easterly is expected.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.

Morning fog is forecast in places south of the western half of Eastern Cape's escarpment. Otherwise, cloudy and cool temperatures are expected with light rain in places along the coast and adjacent interior.

It will become fine in the north from the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate south-westerly.

The eastern half of the province will have morning fog in places south of the escarpment. Otherwise, cloudy and cool conditions with light rain are forecast in places along the coast and adjacent interior.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate south-westerly, becoming a light north-easterly in the evening.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy in the east from late morning.

Isolated showers and rain are expected along the coast and adjacent interior.

The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-westerly north of Durban at first.

Otherwise, a moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly can be expected.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
