
Police have cordoned off the scene of a shooting that saw two teenagers killed and five others hospitalised in Westbury.
Seven teenagers, aged between 13 and 19, were shot in a suspected gang-related shooting in Westbury, Gauteng, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the incident occurred on Croesus Street at about 13:00.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said it was reported that the teenagers were shot by four suspects believed to be from a rival gang.
“The teenagers were approached by four suspects on foot, three carrying firearms,” she added.

“The suspects opened fire on the victims without saying anything and then fled the scene.”
Muridili said two of the teenagers were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while the remaining five were receiving urgent medical treatment.

She added that the Gauteng Anti-Gang Unit was currently at the scene along with the police’s Forensic Services.
“Crime Intelligence has also been mobilised to assist the Anti-Gang Unit with the tracing of the suspects,” Muridili said.
