News24 | WATCH | Thousands of Capetonians join march in solidarity with Palestinians

3 days ago 2

Thousands of people took to Cape Town’s streets to express their solidarity with Palestinians, one year after the start of the Israel-Gaza conflict.

The march, organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), started in District Six and ends at Parliament.

PSC spokesperson Usuf Chikte said the organisation wanted Parliament to pass the "Apartheid Bill", which would domesticate the Apartheid Convention into South African law.

Earlier this year, South Africa acceded to the United Nations' International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid (the Apartheid Convention).
