So said former US First Lady Michelle Obama in Cape Town on Thursday as she recalled her emotions on meeting girls in Malawi as part of a campaign to eradicate child brides on the African continent.

Obama was joined by human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, activist and former South African first lady Graça Machel, and philanthropist Melinda French-Gates at a Cape Town event - a discussion around ending child marriage and removing barriers faced by young African women.
