'Persistently high' temperatures are forecast in parts of the country.

A notice for heatwave conditions has been issued by the South African Weather Service in parts of Gauteng as well as the eastern parts of the North West.

Advisory: 

Heatwave conditions that could result in persistently high temperatures are expected in places over Gauteng and the eastern parts of the North West until Friday.

Gauteng will be fine and hot. 

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme. 

It will be cloudy in the eastern parts of Mpumalanga, with morning fog and drizzle along the escarpment, otherwise, partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions have been forecast. 

Limpopo can expect cloudy conditions in the east with morning fog and drizzle along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot to very hot in the south-western parts of the province. 

Fine and hot to very hot conditions are forecast for the North West

The Free State can expect morning fog in the east, otherwise, fine and warm to hot conditions have been forecast. 

It will be fine and warm to hot, but very hot in the north-western parts of the Northern Cape.

The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly.

Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected in the eastern parts of the Western Cape in the morning, otherwise, fine and cool to warm weather is forecast.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly along the west coast, otherwise light and variable in the morning, becoming moderate easterly to south-easterly in the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

It will be partly cloudy and warm in the western half of the Eastern Cape but cool in places along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh north-easterly by evening.

The eastern half of the province can expect partly cloudy conditions with fog patches in places south of the escarpment at first, otherwise, it will be fine and cool.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly at first, otherwise south-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh north-easterly from late afternoon.

Morning fog can be expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal, otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming south-easterly.
