There has been flooding in numerous suburbs in Cape Town, the City of Cape Town's Disaster Risk Management Centre (DMRC) has confirmed.

DMRC spokesperson Charlotte Powell said there had been reports of flooding in Khayelitsha, Philippi, Gugulethu, Kraaifontein, Elsiesriver, Dunoon, Belgravia and New Village in Nomzamo, among other areas.

New Village appears to be the worst affected, with 180 structures flooded.
