Ndaba Mandela, grandson of Nelson Mandela, has lashed out at his aunt Makaziwe's plans to auction off the former president's personal possessions, saying it is robbing his family and the country of their heritage.

Auction house Guernsey's has advertised the auction for Monday after a court ruling cleared the way for the items to be sold.

Nearly 100 items linked to the former statesman are set to be auctioned on Monday, including Mandela's identity book, his shoes, shirts, glasses and even his hearing aids.
