The State alleges that Cape Town businesswoman Nicole Johnson called a vehicle tracking company and pretended to be the owner of a BMW driven by a man she and her husband, the alleged gangster Ralph Stanfield, were looking for.

This emerged during the bail judgment of Stanfield, Johnson, Johannes Abrahams and Denver Booysen at the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Monday.

In plotting the way forward for the case after bail was denied, prosecutor Nathan Adriaanse told the court that the State needed a postponement until February because it was still waiting for a ballistics report for the attempted murder of a man accused of stealing money from Johnson.
