A shooting in Westbury, Johannesburg, on Thursday has left a woman killed and four others injured.

A woman was killed and four others, including a 15-month-old baby, were injured in a shooting in Westbury, Johannesburg, on Thursday.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, a group of people were at the corner of Larkspur Court and Jacaranda Court when they were attacked by an unknown number of suspects.

“All five victims sustained gunshot wounds, and one of them, an adult female, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital,” she said, adding that a 15-month-old baby was among the four injured.

Nevhuhulwi stated that the motive for the shooting was unknown.

“At this stage, police are investigating a case of murder and four counts of attempted murder.”
