A Tshwane Metro Police Department officer has been arrested and charged for the alleged rape of a 30-year-old woman.
According to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), which investigated the incident and made the arrest, the 39-year-old man appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The officer, who cannot be named until he has pleaded to the charge, was granted bail of R1 000.
