Zandile Gumede attends the 3rd session of her corruption trial.
There was a change of pace in the Zandile Gumede trial on Thursday, with the media thrust into the central focus of the high-profile corruption case.
The matter ordinarily deals with supply chain procedures, intimidation, and allegations of rampant corruption relating to R320 million siphoned by Gumede and her 21 co-accused from the eThekwini Municipality's Durban Solid Waste (DSW) unit.
But Judge Sharmaine Balton's attention in court was mostly spent on hearing arguments opposing her restrictive media ruling earlier in the year.
