Police were called to Tregoad Holiday Park in St Martin, near Looe

Ten people are thought to have been injured in an incident involving a land train in Cornwall.

Police officers were called to Tregoad Holiday Park in St Martin, near Looe, on Wednesday at about 19:00 GMT.

Ambulance crews, coastguards and the fire service were also in attendance, said police.

Looe Land Train said it understood from the emergency services that 10 people were being treated at local hospitals. Police initially reported that eight people had been injured.

'Devastated'

The business said: "We also understand that none of these injuries are critical nor life threatening.

"At this time, the cause of the accident is unknown.

"No other vehicles were involved. We will be fully co-operating with any investigation by the authorities.

"As a family business we are devastated by tonight’s accident and our thoughts are with all of those injured or impacted."

The holiday park has been approached for comment.
