Spotify users think they've cracked the launch date for Spotify Wrapped - and it suggests there's not long to wait

It's almost time for Spotify Wrapped to remind us of all the embarrassing songs we've been listening to on repeat this year.

While Spotify itself has been staying tight–lipped about when Wrapped might drop, some users think they have cracked the code.

On social media, keen–eyed music fans believe they have spotted a pattern in Spotify Wrapped's recent release dates.

And their prediction suggests that there's not much longer to wait.

Last year, Spotify Wrapped was launched on December 4, while the annual recap came on November 29 in 2023 and November 30 in 2022.

If the music streaming giant sticks to its past pattern, that could mean there are only days before users get to look back on their year in music.

On X, one Spotify user confidently predicted that Wrapped would fall on '1 December, definitely'.

Another claimed: 'December 5, 2025 for Spotify Wrapped.'

While Spotify is staying tight–lipped about when its annual Spotify Wrapped summary will be coming, fans think they have figured out when it will be coming

Spotify Wrapped is the streaming service's yearly review of users' listening habits.

When it does arrive, the recap will likely fix the usual mix of users' top songs and most–streamed artists, as well as some interesting facts about how much you've listened over the year.

In previous years, Spotify has always made sure to drop in a few unusual or surprising features, so expect to see a new way of reviewing your music this year.

Despite users clamouring to learn when Spotify Wrapped will arrive, the company has never set a firm date for its release.

Currently, you can access a landing page for the 2025 Spotify Wrapped, but it only links back to the 2024 recap.

The page says: 'Your listening highlights, and more. Keep playing what you love, and we’ll get in touch when it’s ready. Until then, revisit the top songs of 2024.'

However, as social media users have noticed, the date only varies by a few days.

Looking back as far as 2018, Spotify Wrapped has never been released more than a week either side of December 1.

Spotify has confirmed that 2025 Wrapped will be coming soon, but there is no indication of when it might drop

On social media, keen–eyed fans have spotted a pattern in the release date of Spotify Wrapped. The music summary never arrives more than a week either side of December 1

One music fan confidently predicted that Spotify Wrapped would arrive on December 5, the same release date as in 2019

Since the recap has never been released on a weekend, many fans now believe the first five or six days of December are the most likely dates.

And, since the recap has never been released on a weekend, many fans now believe the first five or six days of December are the most likely dates.

On social media, fans flocked to share their predictions, with one suggesting that it was 'probably December 6' while another wrote: 'I'm gonna guess Dec. 2.'

Meanwhile, a few keen fans believe they have found a critical clue that could reveal when Spotify Wrapped will arrive.

As one Spotify fan pointed out: 'Past 4 years have been on a Wednesday on either the last week of November or first of December.'

With Wednesday, November 26, already passed, many fans now believe December 3 is the real Spotify Wrapped release date.

One commenter suggested: 'It always releases on a Wednesday... so December 3rd?

'It’s always a Wednesday so I guess 3rd,' chimed in another.

While one fan bluntly wrote: 'idky we're acting like it's a random date. It's literally just the Wednesday after thanksgiving lmao.'

One fan pointed out that Spotify Wrapped has been released on the last Wednesday of November or the first Wednesday of December for the last four years

One social media user questioned whether there really was a 'random date', pointing out that Spotify Wrapped usually falls on the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving

However, one question fans couldn't solve is when their listening habits would stop counting towards Spotify Wrapped

Spotify says that Wrapped would still be counting listens after October 31, but did not specify when the actual cut–off date would be

However, one question Spotify users still haven't cracked is when the app stops counting new listens towards their Wrapped total.

With a vast amount of user data to process, Spotify will likely take a few days or even weeks to put together the summary.

This means, if Spotify Wrapped does launch on December 3, any listening in the first few days of December won't count towards your total.

In a cryptic post on X, Spotify did confirm that 'Wrapped is still counting past Oct. 31', but the company has never revealed the exact cut–off date.

This has left some Spotify users frustrated, with one desperately asking: 'When is the last day??? I need to fix my music.'

While another Taylor Swift fan wrote: 'Most important thing: when is the cut off date for tracking ?? I need Ophelia to be in my top 10 at least.'

MUSIC CAN IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

Listening to melancholy music can improve a person’s emotional well-being in times of loneliness and distress.

Sad songs, in particular, can stir up a mixture of complex and ‘partially positive’ emotions, including nostalgia, peacefulness, tenderness, transcendence and wonder.

Upbeat music that you're not consciously aware that you're listening to typically have no affect on how you feel.

But actively seeking out happiness through music can sometimes improve your health and relationship satisfaction.

Research has also found that listening to fast-paced, energetic music can increase the perceived spiciness of food by up to ten per cent.
