Limpopo police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a 74-year-old German tourist.

An act of kindness from a 74-year-old German tourist appears to have led to his brutal assault and murder in Northam, Limpopo, after he gave a hitchhiker a lift.
"Preliminary reports indicate that the pair established a friendship to the extent that the victim requested the man to drive his vehicle," police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said on Monday.
Ledwaba added that Herman Gunter Friedrich Westphal had left Botswana on Friday, and had driven to South Africa in a sedan.
