The Eastern Cape High Court in Gqeberha has sentenced Moses Gqesha to eight life terms for each rape count; for the 2010 rape of Gauteng businesswoman Andy Kawa.
He was sentenced on Thursday morning.
Kawa was raped throughout the night on the dunes of the Gqeberha beachfront in December 2010 before managing to escape the following morning.
Her perpetrator was only arrested in January 2024 after he was positively linked through DNA.
The National Prosecution Authority confirmed the sentence handed down.
