Police have arrested two bodyguards, believed to be those of murder-accused Katiso “KT” Molefe, who were in possession of unlicensed firearms.
The pair, aged 24 and 36, were arrested outside the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, shortly after Molefe appeared in court.
They were found carrying two semi-automatic AKM rifles and ammunition without valid permits, police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe reported.
“The bodyguards are believed to have been escorting an accused person who was appearing today in court,” Mathe said.
A vehicle transporting the bodyguards was also seized after the licence plate did not correspond with the registration number plates.
