Officials say the fire near Brandvlei Prison has been contained.

A fire that was threatening Brandvlei prison has been brought back under control after firefighters spent a "busy night" battling the flames.
Cape Winelands District Municipality spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto said there were no active fire lines, although there are many hot spots and several smouldering pine stumps in the area.
"Other than the corrugated storage facility that was destroyed two days ago, there has been no damage to homes or the prison facility situated in the area," said Otto.
