British elite cross-country runner Tom Evans was mugged, held at knifepoint and beaten up on a Table Mountain hiking trail in Cape Town on Friday afternoon. 

Evans, 31, a professional runner, was in the Mother City to train for the popular RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town (UTCT) next weekend.
