Housing activists and residents of Bromwell Street outside the Constitutional Court ahead of the case.
The Constitutional Court has reserved judgment in the case involving a group of Bromwell Street residents in Woodstock, Cape Town, who have resisted evictions for 10 years.
On Tuesday, the apex court heard arguments by the City of Cape Town and housing lobby group Ndifuna Ukwazi (NU), which represents the residents.
NU's advocate, Sheldon Magardie, said the Western Cape High Court declared the City's conduct and its implementation unconstitutional, and they wanted the apex court to uphold this judgment.
