Two police officers have been arrested for theft and hijacking.
Two police officers were arrested this week for allegedly using their marked vehicles to pull over a truck transporting perlemoen (abalone) while in uniform and stealing its contents.
According to the police, on 10 August 2022, the truck was transporting abalone to the value of R500 000 from the Buffelsjag abalone farm in Hermanus to Cape Town International Airport.
As the truck with two crew members approached the Baden Powell off-ramp on the N2, it was pulled over by two marked police vehicles.
