City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services are battling a blaze below Philip Kgosana Drive in Cape Town.
The fire was reported just after 13:00 on Wednesday.
According to Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Jermaine Carelse, emergency services have deployed multiple resources to the scene.
“Currently, we have several resources on scene, including crews from Table Mountain National Park,” Carelse said.
He added that firefighters were working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby communities.

“Firefighters are actively ensuring that it does not spread to the nearby informal settlement,” Carelse added.
He said that containment efforts were under way in the surrounding areas.
“Other crews are positioned on Perth Road to cut off the head of the fire.”
