A Cape Town man's passion for long-distance cold swimming has landed him a spot in the Guinness World Record books.

In August, Howard Warrington, 59, from Somerset West, was awarded the title when he clocked his 155th swim from Robben Island to Blouberg. He's the only person who has claimed the title.

"So no one held this title before me. It was never really the goal to be the record holder because swimming is what I thoroughly enjoy. But it is an honour to be recognised for the many swims," Warrington said.
